Izzy's first date and stats

My friend, Carrie, was in town visiting from Maryland so Mike and I went out to dinner with her, Carrie's husband, and their cute son, Brecken. He is just 6 weeks younger than Izzy.
Izzy was playing hard to get at first.
But she quickly gave in and held his hand (this was done on their own); so cute!! She couldn't take her eyes off him....
until he turned to look at her; she had to play hard to get again!!

This was Izzy's first experience with a doll. She totally body slammed the poor doll. I guess she isn't ready for a baby sister.
I'm not sure where she learned to body slam. I need to talk to her daddy and Uncle G.
I love this outfit; I couldn't get her to smile though!
Cute sailor outfit. I think I wore something like this when I was a baby too!
The day of her 6 month shots. See the band-aids (and rolls)!
6 month stats:
weight-20 pounds; 95%, which is a decrease from 98% at her 4 month appt
height-27.5 inches; 86%, which is a decrease from 97% at her 4 month appt
head-18 inches; 99%, which is an increase from 94% at her month appt
The Doctor pointed out that only 1% of the population has a larger head than her. I guess her brain is growing! I doubt there are many babies who have bigger cheeks than her too!!
I love my BIG baby!!

update

So life has been busy, crazy, hectic, and fun! Louise and Richard came out for Catherine and Blake's graduation. It was great to have family around. Catherine and her family and Christina have all moved to DC for the summer. It was so great to have Cat living so close. I am so blessed that she watched Izzy this past year. I know Izzy enjoyed spending time with Cat, playing peek and boo with Benson, and having Abi suck on her hand. I will always be so grateful for Cat. This summer Guillaume is living with us and watching Izzy. It is great to still have family around. We look forward to the fall when Christina will be back and my sister Kathryn will be at BYU. I need to download the pictures from the camera, so this is all I have for now.

Izzy loves swinging at the park.
My mom came in for one day to meet Celeste and drive with her to New York. Celeste has moved to New York to do an internship with Goldman Sachs. We miss having her around!

Visit and pics

My mother came to visit this past weekend. We had a blast going out to eat, shopping, relaxing, and then shopping some more! I love when my mom comes to visit. She is such a great example to me and has such a sweet spirit. Unfortunately, we did not take any pictures (I don't know what I was thinking). I do have some pictures of Izzy with her cousin Abi, who is only 3 months younger than her, and her cousin Benson. If you are wondering how old Izzy is, she is only 5 months old. I know her looks can be deceiving. We went for her check-up on Friday and she is 18 pounds and 27 inches long, which is the 98% for both. The Doctor said it is good to have big babies, but I don't we might send her to the Biggest Looser!!!! ( hahaha that was Mike's clever joke). I'm actually teaching Mike how to update the Blog so if anything CRAZY appears on here you know exactly who is responsible. Yours truly, Penny !!!

Isabelle's Blessing & Christmas in Texas

Izzy took her first flight at seven weeks! We flew to Houston to celebrate Christmas with my family. Izzy did great on the 3-hour flight, but the two hour drive from the airport to my house was too much. She was not very happy during the drive. We had a great time hanging out with the family and Izzy got to meet her grandparents, aunts, and uncles.
Izzy on Christmas morning. She had no idea what was going on, why she was dressed in red, or what all the presents were for.
Grandma and Izzy
Uncle Dennis and Izzy. He doesn't like the hat, but I do!
Aunt Suzette holding Izzy in the football hold (this was her favorite position for a long time).
Uncle Craig, Lindsey, and Suzette on Christmas eve.

We did Izzy's baby blessing in January. My mom, sister, and brother-in-law flew out for it. Celeste, my cousin Rosanne and her husband Brian were here. Mike's parents flew out for it too. His 2 sisters, brother, and brother-in-law were here for it as well. Our friends Jen, Chris, Bethany, and Ryan also came. We are so grateful for everyone who came to the blessing, especially those who had to fly so far. It really meant a lot to us.
Mike was conducting the day of the blessing. During the opening song I could tell she pooped so I thought I will just go change her real quick. I get to the bathroom, pull up her dress, and all I see is yellow poop everywhere. Her onesie is soaking wet with poop, her slip is covered in poop, and there is some poop on the dress. I didn't know where to begin. I managed to find someone to go get my mom and she came and helped me! I threw away the onesie and took the slip off; the dress was ok for her to keep on there were just a few spots on it. Back in the meeting Mike had no idea what was going on and he hadn't even noticed I left. So he announces, "I now have the priviledge of blessing my daughter." Everyone walks up there and there is no baby. So he has to go back and announce, "I now have the priviledge of announcing we will bless my baby after the Sacrament." He had no idea where I was or what I was doing. Needless to say, we got her cleaned up and the blessing was beautiful. After the blessing everyone came over for a brunch and pictures. Also, Louise, Mike's mother, was able to get the poop out of the dress and the slip. She has this magic yellow bar of soap that gets anything out! Thanks Louise!!

Welcome Isabelle Debra

So I have been terrible about my blogging, partly because I don't know how to do it very and well and because I never had much to write. Now that I have a baby there is much more exciting things to write! So I will give a quick review of what we have been up to. Isabelle was born on October 31, 2009 at 5:44 AM weighing 8 lbs 6 oz and was 22 inches long.. I went to the hospital on October 30 at 6 AM, so it was a 24 hour labor!! Thank goodness for epidurals! I had said I didn't want to have the baby on Halloween so when I was induced around 9AM I was sure she would come on the 30th, but no such luck! Overall, it was a great experience. The nurses were great, the hospital was awesome, and my doctor was amazing.
Isabelle, one week old. My mom came to help out the week Isabelle was born. She was absolutely heaven sent. I could not have survived without it. Of course, we also had to have a photo shoot, so my mom dressed Izzy up and took pictures of her.
At the hospital, day one!
She was so adorable as a newborn. She was just perfect!!
Daddy admiring his baby girl.

Grandma and Isabelle in the hospital.

Mike's family came out to visit for Thanksgiving and meet Isabelle. It was great to have all the Bergerons under the same roof. We are so happy they came out and we were able to spend the holidays together.

Mami and Papi holding Izzy on Thanksgiving. They are working on teaching her French; hopefully she learns (and hopefully mom learns to while she does).
Thanksgiving Day! It was delicious! Thanks everyone for cooking the meal and the great company.

My next post will be Christmas in Texas, Izzy's blessing, and some cute pics!

going private

So I know I haven't updated my blog lately. I have been busy, but the main reason is I have decided to make our blog private. Maybe I am a little paranoid, but especially with the addition in our family I don't want just anyone looking at our blog. So I want everyone to keep reading it so send me your email address! You can just leave it here or email it to pennylynn0913@yahoo.com

Baby showers and Austin

We went to Austin for Labor Day Weekend to visit Suzette and Jon. Of course, they were great hosts. On Friday we went out on their boat. Mike had fun wakeboarding; I just observed. I don't know why my Dr. didn't think wakeboarding was a good activity for pregnant people. Mom, Dad, and Kathryn came up Friday too. We ate lots of good food, went to the natural springs, and did some shopping. It was a great weekend.

Mike showing off his skills.

Jen and Aislinn had a baby shower for me with my friends from work and school. We had a great time. It was great to hang out with co-workers outside of work and see some friends from school.

Cat and Bethany threw me an awesome baby shower in August with friends from church. They did an awesome job and it was a really fun time. Bethany made her signature diaper cake and it turned out really cute!

Really cute quilt!

I had a great time! It was fun to see everyone!
