Catch up

So I have not posted in forever because once again my camera broke and is once again getting fixed at Best Buy. I will not vent my frustration with Best Buy at this time. Anyways, we went to Texas for Thanksgiving and had a blast. My mom, sisters, Lindsey (brother's girlfriend), and I headed to Houston for our traditional shopping spree. We stayed at a hotel attached to the mall Thursday night and Friday night. That way we were there for all the early bird sales Friday and could still do more shopping Saturday morning!! It was awesome. Unfortunately I do not have any pictures from the shopping, but needless to say plenty of damage was done. We are so fortunate to have such a great family and be able to spend time with them. It was a great trip and I got to wear shorts while I was there!!

Dennis, my younger brother, and I.
Craig, my other younger brother, and I. He is in med school right now and I am still working on him being my FREE doctor when he finishes.
The Grebe clan Christmas tree shopping.
The traditional Thanksgiving football game. Check out that nice Texas land:)
Cooking for Thanksgiving. My favorite part is Craig's deep fried turkey!! If you haven't had deep fried turkey, you need to. Mike says it is the best turkey ever.

Halloween

So for Halloween we went to the trunk or treat at church and then to a friend's party. I was so excited because I had my camera and was ready to take pictures. I went to start taking pictures and my camera would not work, all I had was a black screen; needless to say I was not very happy. On Saturday I found my Best Buy receipt (thankfully) and they are in the process of fixing it:) I was happy my friends sent me some pictures they took.

Some of friends at the trunk or treat.
Mike and I in are original costumes. I was a cowgirl and Mike was a baseball player; pretty creative; huh?
Benson, my nephew, and I in our matching costumes. He didn't like his cowboy hat too much though.

We went to Colorado Springs to watch Dennis, my "little brother" play football. He did an awesome job. I lost track of how many tackles he made.
As you can tell he had a lot of fans there. My parents, uncles, cousins, and grandparents all came to cheer him on. We had a great time.

Mike and I were able to take a 10 day trip to Canada, Boston, Newport, and New York.  It was great to spend time together and have a break from work.  We did lots of sight seeing, visiting friends and family, and of course we made time for shopping.  Unfortunately, we don't have any trips planned until we head to Texas in a couple of months.  So for now we are back to the normal routine of life: work, eat, workout, watch tv, playing with our dog, and hanging out with friends and family.
We started our trip in Canada visiting Mike's family.  We had a great time spending time with his aunts, uncles, cousins, and grandparents.
From there we headed to Boston.  Of course, we attended a Red Sox game at Fenway park.  We had gone to a game before when we were dating, but you can never go to Fenway park enough.  The fans there are great!
The view from our box seats.
In Boston we went on a duck tour.  This is what we rode around in.  Not only did it take us on the road; it also goes in the water.  It was pretty cool, not to mention the tour guide was wearing a duck hat.
Mike and I were to Newport, Rhode Island for two days.  We lived there the first summer we were married.  We took a bike ride around Ocean Drive and toured the mansions.  Mike was able to meet up with some of his baseball coaches/managers from when he played summer ball there.
Mike pitching at Cardines Field in Rhode Island.
I loved going to New York and seeing the Statue of Liberty.  This was my first time to NYC and I absolutely loved it.
Mike and I on the ferry that took us by Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island.

Downtown New York.  If you can't tell it is raining; however the streets were still packed with people quickly walking to their destination.
Waiting for the subway to take us to Yankee Stadium.  This was the one downfall of the trip.  The game got rained out and we really wanted to see the game in their old stadium.

So I have finally learned how to do a blog (well, sort of).  Mike and I have been fortunate to travel to many places this summer.  So I posted a few pictures from each adventure.  It all started with my graduation with my masters in social work.  From there we traveled to Texas to watch Celeste graduate from high school.  Then we went to Alaska on a cruise, then to Lava Hot Springs with some friends, then on to Montana to see Grandma and Grandpa.  The summer ended with a trip to Colorado to see Guillaume return home from his two year mission in Korea.  But the fun does not stop there.  The Fall begins with a 10 day trip to Canada, Boston, Rhode Island, and New York.  So there will be more postings in the near future!!
These are some of my friends from my masters program.  There was noway I could have done it without them!

In May, Mike and I flew down to Texas to watch Celeste graduate from high school.  We had a great time hanging out with the family, jet skiing on the river, swimming, and fishing.

My mom and beautiful sisters in Texas.
Kathryn, my little sister, and I at the high school graduation.
Dennis, my little brother, and I.  For some reason I am the runt of the family.
Dennis, Suzette, and I with our grandparents.
In June, Mike and I went to Alaska on a cruise.  We had a great time.  The trip was paid for by his work and we had a huge room with balcony and all.  Not too mention every night after dinner we had a gift on our bed from his company.  This was by far the prettiest day of scenery.  It was so bright outside (even though it doesn't look like it) it took us five times to get a picture with our eyes somewhat open.
We had just returned from a morning of salmon fishing.  Unfortunately we did not bring back any salmon, instead we both felt very sea sick from the fishing boat.
This was one night at dinner.  We were well-fed on the ship (of course--that's the best part of the cruise).

In July we went to Lava Springs with two of my girlfriends from school and one of Mike's friends from baseball. We camped on Friday night and then Saturday we floated the river. We had a great time!!
The night we arrived we stayed up til 2 AM playing Texas Hold 'Em.
Unfortunately, Jen won both games. The quote of the night was, "I don't know how I have everyones' chips."
These three boys were the first ones out so they watched over the fire.
Mike and I getting our tubes to raft down the river.
Jen and I getting situated with our tubes. Unfortunately Jen got a better tube than I did. I flipped over everytime we went over a rapid or maybe I just suck at tubing.
