Baby showers and Austin

We went to Austin for Labor Day Weekend to visit Suzette and Jon. Of course, they were great hosts. On Friday we went out on their boat. Mike had fun wakeboarding; I just observed. I don't know why my Dr. didn't think wakeboarding was a good activity for pregnant people. Mom, Dad, and Kathryn came up Friday too. We ate lots of good food, went to the natural springs, and did some shopping. It was a great weekend.

Jen and Aislinn had a baby shower for me with my friends from work and school. We had a great time. It was great to hang out with co-workers outside of work and see some friends from school.

Cat and Bethany threw me an awesome baby shower in August with friends from church. They did an awesome job and it was a really fun time. Bethany made her signature diaper cake and it turned out really cute!

Really cute quilt!

Canada and DC

Mike and I headed to Canada for a few days to visit family and celebrate his Grandpa's 75th birthday. The few days were fun; I spent most of the time with the kids because they speak English (most everyone else only speaks French). From there we flew to DC to visit Mike's parents. They recently moved to the DC area. Mike had never toured the city before and he thought it was very nice. I think I heard "This city is so nice" five times a day. We found an awesome Mexican restaurant; Mike complimented her on the food and she brought us free queso and guacamole (queso is my favorite)!! We had a great trip!

Montana

I have been such a slacker with updating our blog. With this pregnancy I have had no motivation to do anything! We have had a good summer. I went to New York with my sisters and mom, went to Colorado with Mike, and then to Montana for my grandparent's 70th wedding anniversary. It was great to see my family there. The weather was nice and cool, which I absolutely loved!

Our drive through Yellowstone. The buffalo truly believe they own the road and I guess they do, no one tries to mess with them!

You can't go visit Grandma without playing Skip-bo, her all time favorite game.

It's a girl!

Mike and I went to the doctor on Thursday for the ultrasound and we are having a girl!! I am really excited; I have already been thinking of all the cute dresses and bows. We got to see all the body parts (although we couldn't tell what most of them were; we just took the doctor's word). They said everything looks healthy. Right now the baby is big; measuring in the 80th percentile for size. They said it could average out over time. I hope so, I don't want to be delivering a huge baby!!

I'm pregnant!!

So, I'm not just getting fat, I'm pregnant. My clients at work like to remind me that I am getting a little tummy. I am 14 weeks along and due on Nov. 10. It has been interesting so far. I have been super tired, nausea (although I only threw up once), and just had no desire to do anything. It has started to get better though. I went to the gym yesterday, which was really nice. Mike has been great so far. He makes me dinner (even though I usually just want a salad), cleans, and takes care of the house. He is always telling me to just relax, which I often struggle to do. Somewhere along the way I never learned how to relax. We are really excited and will keep y'all updated.

motor cross race

Last weekend, we went to a motor cross race in Salt Lake. Danny, Christina's boyfriend, was racing. This was our first experience at a motor cross race. Danny got us tickets to go to the "pit." So in between the practice races and the big show we got to walk around and see all the trailers and where all the racers stay. It was a great day. Thanks Danny for a great first motor cross experience!!

snowboarding

Last Saturday we headed to Sundance to do some snowboarding. It was a great, beautiful day, no rain this time!! Mike and I went with Jen & Chris, Aislinn & her friend, Matt, the Chambers and Myers. We had a great time. Chris warned us this time before he took us down the crazy blacks. Mike lost his wallet and camera on one of his falls, but someone turned it in and no money was missing!! Crazy!! Gotta love honest people!!

Snowmobiling

We headed to a friends family's cabin for the weekend. It was awesome!! We spent the weekend snowmobiling and playing cards. It was great to spend time with Mike and some friends. There was no cell phone service up there so no interruptions with phone calls, texts, or emails. It was the best weekend we have had in a long time. Thanks Jen and Chris for a great time!!

Mike and Chris trying to get the snowmobile unstuck. I had the important job of filming and taking pictures. Buff Jen would help out at times, but Mike told me to just stand back, which was fine with me.

My crazy husband. I was so glad he was driving and not me. At times, I was pretty scared knowing that if we hit something wrong we might go down the side of the mountain. Mike attempted a jump (without me on the back) and he had to jump off the snowmobile. I wish we had in on camera; it was funny--maybe next time.

Snowboarding in the rain

On Saturday, Melisse, Jen, Chris, Mike, and I headed to Sundance to go snowboarding. It took us an extra hour to get up there because someone forget to turn in the passes from the previous night (we get them through our work). It was raining in Provo, but we were hopeful it would be snowing at Sundance. We got up there to find more rain. There was actually a river running through the parking lot with all the melting snow. We got on the ski lift and headed all the way up to the top. I kept thinking maybe at the top it would be snowing; wishful thinking again--it was still raining. Plus there was so much fog at the top (as you can tell from the picture), I was so scared I would fall off the cliff. I just kept looking for Melisse's blue pants or Chris' green jacket. It did stop raining for a while. When it started to rain again, we did a couple more runs and called it good. We were all soaked through our layers. It was quite an adventure, probably a once in a life time experience. The good thing was we did not have to pay for our tickets and there were no lines!! What kind of idiots would go skiing when it is raining??!!
